Many people in the city of Bellevue are willing to pay a very high price for love; however, some of them are finding out that, even at this high price, they still run the risk of being stood up. However, this dating service in Bellevue, known as “Great Expectations”, has had a history of upset clients.

Back in 1990, Great Expectations was investigated by the Washington State Attorney General’s Office. The current Attorney General, Rob McKenna, said that these kinds of office records do not go back that far. Thus, it is unclear what was found in the investigation, but no matter what was uncovered, Great Expectations got to remain in business.

Now, many years later, 35 new complaints have come out against Great Expectations to the Attorney General. Many of these complaints come from people who have spent thousands of dollars (in one case $8,000) to find happiness. Instead of finding their soulmate they are have been left with a big bill and nothing to show for it. One lady said that after singing up with Great Expectations she received nothing more than one phone call for a date, but it never paned out.

Although these people would love to get their money back, they are unable to because of the iron clad contract that they freely signed. The contract states that they can not get their money back if they are disappointed with the service that has been provided. Some customers say that people do not know what they have bought until it is way too late.

All the customers say that the same sales pitch was used each time. This pitch puts high pressure on the individual and tries to get them to sign the contract without reading it. The Great Expectations in Bellevue used a big book full of pictures of “possible dates.” However, the reality, the complainants say, is far from what is promised.
