A young man in Boise, Jeffrey Marsalis, is now suspected of using the online dating site Match.com to aid himself in raping young women.
Police say that the man would get to know women on Match.com. After getting to know them he would then take the women back to his Sun Valley condo and drug them. After drugging the women he would then have sex with them while they laid passed out. He was accused of doing this to women back in 2005, and then found himself in another sexual assault trial in Philadelphia in 2007.
The prosecutors of the new trial are accusing him of drugging women’s drinks that he invites back to his house. However, the lawyer that is defending Jeffery Marasalis has a different story to tell. He says that the women are using this story, because they are mad at Jeffery for lying on his Match.com account about his accomplishments. On the site, he claim to be things like a doctor, spy, or astronaut. In reality he is a nursing student.
As of now, Jeffery has allegedly used Match.com to drug and rape seven women in Pennsylvania. However, until the trial takes place, Jeffrey will be innocent until proven guilty.
Match.com warns its users about agreeing to meet up with people. They go on to say that it’s best to take relationships slow, and when agreeing to meet someone for the first time, it’s best to do so in a public place. More information on this case will be released after the trail.
