When most people ask the question, ‘Which nation uses dating websites the most?’, many people automatically think of the United States. However, a recent survey now shows that this may not be true.

According to a BBC World Service global study, 30 percent of web surfers think that the internet is a great place to find their next boyfriend or girlfriend. Although this may seem like a low number, it’s a number that has been on the rise in recent years.

This survey goes on to show that, out of the 11,000 internet users polled across 19 countries, India and Pakistan led the list of countries that are most enthusiastic about online dating. In fact, 60 Percent of Pakistanis and 59 percent of Indians think that the internet is a great place for choosing their next date.

Among the other nations that feel that the internet offers a fair shot at finding dates include Ghana with 47 percent and Philippines with 42 percent. However, there were some nations, America included, that were more than skeptical about finding online dates. Only 28 percent of Brits think that the internet is a good place for dating. This was followed by French at 27 percent, Americans at 21 percent and then South Koreans at 16 percent.

The study also showed that people with a higher level of education are less likely to believe that dating sites can help people find that special someone. Only about 28 percent of these people felt that it was a good place to find a date compared to 36 percent of people who had not completed high school. People can read what they want into these numbers, but these are the results.
