Many sites are now reporting a big boost in the number of people who are looking to join the online dating scene. Experts seem to think this is due to the very cold weather that has been seen this winter. As the UK goes even deeper into their big freeze, with no end in sight, people are not turning away from love. They are just choosing to get it from a different spot.
Right now millions of Britons are unable to make it into work because of snow and ice. Not only can they not make it into work, but they cannot make it out on dates. This is just one of the many unforeseen effects of the harsh winter season.
Now stuck at home, and many bored of daytime TV, people are turning off the tube and turning their attention to their computers. People are apparently using this down time to look for love on the vast world that is the internet.
Online dating sites are reporting big increases in the amount of traffic they have been getting from the UK. Mysinglefriend.com says that visitors to its website jumped up 55 percent on Tuesday alone. Meanwhile, its rival site Singles365.com says that its visitors have grown by 27 percent across Tuesday and Wednesday compared to a year ago.
Experts say that this makes since. A lot of people are not going out because of the cold and the fact that it’s hard to travel. The longer people stay inside the more bored they get. This goes double for singles that would much rather be out and about looking for that special someone. So instead of sitting there for days watching snow, they jump online and see what they can find.
