PKR.com, a 3D poker website, has created a marketing scheme that is targeted at getting single people to join virtual poker tables. They have made an agreement with Lovestruck.com, a dating site in the United Kingdom, to target bringing single people together with a series of face-to-face and virtual poker nights, which will start in November.
The singles poker nights are going to start with a special party for the members of the websites to meet, mingle, as well as learn how to play poker. This launch party will occur on Thursday, November 6th at The Hoxton Pony, the coolest new bar in London. It is free to enter into the poker event, and registration is completed via Lovestruck.com. Dealers who have experience will be handy during the event for teaching or refreshing guests’ minds about the game.
After the event, everyone can continue improving their skills in poker and meet new people online with a series of single poker nights every week at PKR.com. The online singles nights are called ‘Lovestruck Evenings’ and are set to begin on November 17th at 8pm. There will be a tournament that is free to enter, followed by 3 more low buy-in tournaments. The players will need to be registered through both of the websites in order to play, and they will also get a special password for entering.
Brett Harding, the Lovestruck.com Managing Director, said that they are always looking for innovative ways of brining their members together. With this alliance, he added, they will provide quality experiences, which they know their single professionals are going to appreciate.
Simon Prodger, the PKR.com Marketing Director, said that poker is a social game, and they know that their players chat on the forums and in the game. They have seen the bloom of romance on the website, so partnering with Lovestruck.com, who caters to outgoing, young professionals, is perfect for them, he added.
