It now appears that all questions about Stig have just recently been answered by Jeremy Clarkson. He just recently said that Stig has been sacked from Tog Gear. This comes after Ben Collins, who played Stig for seven years, unmasked himself. He did this after the BBC failed to win an injunction that would have prevented him from revealing his identity.
Clarkson said that he felt very hurt and betrayed by Ben’s action. He said that the whole thing was horrible, because Ben use to come over to his house a lot and have some drinks with him, but now it has all come down to this.
Mr Clarkson went on to say that he has spent the last three weeks doing nothing but trying to work out what on earth to do instead. This brought him into a little speech about Wall Street, the movie. He said that, in that movie, Gordon Gekko said that greed was good, greed works. However, Jeremy says it does not, greed is bad.
People then went on to ask Jeremy who might be replacing Stig. Although Clarkson was not able to give out any names, he did say that there are thousands of people lining up to fill this void. He did go on to note, however, that he could not do it himself because he was too old. He also jokingly said that he would love to have Prime Minister Cameron do it, because he bets that he is a great driver.
Of course, Ben should turn out to be just fine. Before he became Stig he had a long list of gigs. In fact, he use to be a former American NASCAR and Formula 3 driver. He also used to be a Daniel Craig stunt double.
