Apparently, if you’re richer, you’re much better in bed and happier. So apart from the obvious, what are the advantages of being richer on the dating scene?

1.    Independence – this has to be the biggest advantage of being richer. You are not dependant on anyone. It’s your money and you can do with it what you please. No one can hold you ransom or make you do anything. You have the money. So you have the power (and independence). It also allows you the freedom to do and go where you want when you want.

2.    Control – money brings power and power brings control. You shouldn’t really focus on this though. Control and power are not ingredients for a healthy happy relationship but sometimes you do what needs to be done! So nothing wrong with using your richer status to control a little. If he doesn’t want to do something just a gentle reminder of who is paying (and what you paid for yesterday) should make him jump for joy at the idea of attending a brunch with your book club ladies and their partners.

3.    You get to decide what to eat – this is the best part about being richer. Since you paying for most (if not all) meals you eat out then you get to choose. It’s only fair. Exceptions can be made on your partner’s birthday. But for the most part if you feel like Chinese then Chinese it is. Or if you feel like staying in and having scrambled eggs on toast well then that’s cool too. If your partner wants to go out – off he goes but the tabs on him!

4.    You don’t have to decline invitations – if you have money you never have to decline parties because you can’t afford to go. It may mean you have to fork out money for your partners drinks though or you could just leave her at home. She really doesn’t need to be with you at every single party you go to!

5.    Bribery – this is my favorite advantage. Really it is. Money opens so many doors and while bribery may seem a little immoral – in this case both parties benefit so I really do not see the harm. So if you need something and you really just don’t feel up to – bribe! You can make it a bit classy and instead of offering actually notes to your partner could buy something he has really wanted and use that to get what you need. This is not shallow. You get your washing done and he gets a new pair of shoes! See both parties are getting something out of it.

6.    You get to decided where to go – if you are richer than your partner then you generally will get to decide where you want to go. If you are willing to pay for it then your partner shouldn’t really have much of an issue. If there is an issue then refer to point no 2 – if that still doesn’t work then try point 5. If he is still not budging, phone a friend and leave at him at home. Just make sure you don’t bribe him with a DVD box set because then there is no way he will budge off the couch!
