It is almost easier for a guy to cheat than it is for a girl. Guys play golf, go for drinks with the boys after work. They often just have more opportunity to cheat and keep it secret. And they’re better liars.

Despite this there are still signs you can watch out for.

•    He switches his phone off when he goes to shower. What other possible explanation could their be for why he turns his phone off while he showers? The obvious reason is he doesn’t want you going through his phone or answering calls from people he doesn’t want you speaking to.

If the phone is off, he may be off!

•    He suddenly decides to take up golf. Golf (or any other sport really) allows him to disappear for the morning or even the whole day. While the actually starting of the sport is not the problem, it does become one when after a month of Sundays at the golf course, he still doesn’t own a single club! So what is he playing with?

Golf? Or are those trousers a front?

•    Sex starts getting more exciting or more boring. He either wants to use you as a guinea pig to try new things on to see what will work or is trying out what she has taught him on you. If it gets more boring or less frequent it is because he is getting it somewhere else. A guy has needs and sex is like air to them – they need it to be able to function.

‘Let’s just cuddle’ that should ring alarm bells!

•    If you have access to each others accounts or do combined budgets and suddenly cash amounts are withdrawn from his account that can not be explained, start asking some serious questions. He is more than likely using this money to pay for hotel rooms, buy flowers or lunches. Guys aren’t that stupid – most of them know not to leave a paper trail.

Flowers - but not for you!

•    There is an increased number of messages and calls from his friend Bob. Often a guy will save the new girls number as a friends name so that should you see a text it can be explained away. But if Bob starts missing your man then maybe take the number down and call to invite him round for drinks on Saturday.

•    A classic sign is the linger of her scent. Often they are smart enough to shower afterwards but that scent of her perfume remains. This does get a bit tricky to identify if she works with him but it can still be identified!

Which perfume are you and her wearing?

•    You battle to get hold of him. This is one of the more obvious signs. He went for drinks with his mates and should have been home, when you try and call him, his phone is off or he doesn’t answer. This could mean he is hurt or his phone got stolen but its more likely it means he is otherwise occupied with someone else.

•    Gossip! Office gossip is often just that but it is also often the pulse of what is going on. Put your ears to the ground and listen to what people are saying. There is going to be some truth in some of the rumours.
